Description

Eru, also called kork, is a wild leafy vegetable native to Cameroon and Central Africa, valued for its chewy texture and strong, forest-like aroma. Harvested from the Gnetum africanum plant, it is traditionally cooked with meats, crayfish, and palm oil in hearty stews. The flavor is earthy, bold, and slightly bitter, often balanced with spicy ingredients. Though not native to South Asia, it is a staple in many African homes and diaspora kitchen.
