Description

Laccha Shemai, locally known as লাচ্ছা সেমাই , is a type of fine, layered vermicelli made from wheat flour mixed with ghee or oil, and then roasted until golden. The strands are thin, delicate, and slightly crispy before cooking. In Bangladesh, লাচ্ছা সেমাই holds a special place in festive cuisine, particularly during Eid-ul-Fitr, when it is prepared with milk, sugar, cardamom, and nuts to make creamy দুধ সেমাই. Its rich aroma and soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture after cooking make it a beloved dessert ingredient passed down through generations.
